About Us
Our Story
Founded in 2012 as an innovation hub inside Smartcom, SmartLab Bulgaria was created to bridge the gap between education, research, and real engineering practice.
Today, SmartLab serves as a collaborative space where students, mentors, industry experts, and researchers work together on applied ICT, electronics, and software projects.
Our goal has always been simple – to give young talent the environment, support, and real-world challenges they need to grow into confident technology professionals.
In the past decade, SmartLab has supported student teams, guided dozens of diploma projects, delivered internships, and contributed to R&D initiatives across multiple technology fields.
We are driven by value
SmartLab is built on the belief that meaningful innovation happens when young people are trusted with real challenges and supported with the right mentorship. Our core values are:
Curiosity
We encourage exploration, experimentation, and creative thinking.
Collaboration
Students, teachers, and industry partners work side by side.
Practical Learning
Real projects, real deadlines, real experience.
Growth Mindset
We focus on continuous improvement through guidance and feedback.
Our programs empower students to learn by doing, fail safely, and develop the confidence to pursue technology careers with purpose and skill.
And our R&D projects empower our partners to thrive in an ever-evolving technological landscape.
